Interpreting the relationship between efficiency & temperature

While you might think of your efficiency as dropping most significantly when the weather is very cold (below approximately 21ºF or -6ºC), the same can be true when the weather is very hot.

The optimal temperature for electric vehicles is highly debated, but by our estimates you can think of it as being on par with what humans consider to be a beautiful sunny day (around 70ºF or 21ºC).

However, it’s important to consider that there are many factors that go into your efficiency score. (Check out our piece on how to Improve Your Driving Efficiency vs. Others for tips on boosting your score.)

Ultimately, you should pay attention to your vehicle’s individual data to understand how the weather affects your efficiency.
